Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6
I wanted to start off today by giving an update. I told y’all earlier on social media and on the website that I was having some health procedures done this week. Well, yesterday I had surgery on my ankle to remove a non-cancerous cyst that had been there for a few years. Because of that surgery, and other medical issues, I have had to remain on medical leave from my “tentmaking” job since the first of June. Though due to a couple of other medical issues I may be forced to leave my “tentmaking” job and apply for disability because I cannot at this point handle the physical requirements and durations for my field that I have been in for over 25 years. I have been working in jobs in the culinary and manufacturing fields since I was 16 so they have taken a toll on my back to the point that I have osteoarthritis in my lower back along with similar conditions in my upper back. The course of treatment includes pain management which also can impair my cognitive function so we are working on a balance but that honestly only dulls the pain. So I am humbly asking everyone to keep my family in your prayers as we navigate through all this.
I am excited about the prospect of new ministry doors opening. We are putting together a new Christian study guide to send to those who reach out to us as part of our prison outreach along with partnering with the American Bible Society to have Bibles printed for prison outreach. We are also putting together a planing budget for the other outlets of ministry that we are looking forward to starting such as a broadcast ministry.
